Bandon Dunes Golf Resort boasts four courses that stretch along the rugged Oregon coastline. The courses are perched 100 feet above the Pacific Ocean, offering panoramic views from almost every hole. They sprawl across massive coastal dunes that tumble towards the ocean, a landscape that will make golfers feel as though they are playing a course in the British Isles. Although they all share the same landscape, each course has a different character and set of challenges. The Old Macdonald Course is newest of the four courses. It was created as an homage to course architect C.B. Macdonald. Designs Tim Oak and Jim Urbina did their best to simulate what Macdonald would have done if the Oregon Coast had been his canvas. The result is a layout with massive greens with myriad angles of play and surrounded by strategically placed bunkers.

Opening in 2010, Old Macdonald will be the fourth championship golf course at Bandon Dunes, with the largest greens of the lot.

As a Texan and Scot (McDonald), I love the challenge of links golf. My son and I played Old Mac in late March 2013 on a light wind day. An awesome experience. We both played outstanding shooting 80 and 90 respectively. Trusting your caddies a must. Can't wait to go back.

A unique experience form the tee shot on #1 through all 18. A gentleman from Portland told me it is like playing golf on the moon. He's pretty close to correct. No carts, no houses, nothing but the course, the birds and the ocean.
The front is tough enough, but lulls you inot a false sense that you might realy know how to play this game. The back, another 700 plus yards long, will kick you in the seat of your pants.
Bandon Dunes had been on my bucket list. Now, I can't wait to go back.
