The championship golf course at Persimmon features varied terrain and elevations, stately trees, natural wetlands, and just enough lakes and rock-bottomed creeks to add exhilaration and inventive challenges to every round.

Nestled in a protective mountain bowl, the course is well sheltered from winds common to flatland areas.

The design makes it easily walkable, great for those who enjoy exercise as part of their game.

Best of all, the Persimmon Golf Course is pleasurable for everyone from the high handicapper to the scratch golfer.

The most difficult challenge just might be keeping your eye on the ball, resisting the magnificent distractions of mountains, meadows, and the picturesque valley below.

Like a fine piece of sculpture, Persimmon's detailed excellence is brought forth through the creative stewardship of top designer Gene "Bunny" Mason. Mr. Mason is responsible for a variety of nationally recognized golf courses in the Northwest, most notably the new Awbrey Glen Golf Club in Bend, and Glaze Meadows at Black Butte Ranch. PGA Touring Pro Bob Gilder also provided insightful course play consultation.

Mr. Mason has a simple philosophy:
"Courses should capture the best of the natural beauty that the original land provides."

His friendly architectural style is clearly evident at Persimmon Country Club, where players will enjoy a great variety in terms of length and the individual configuration of each hole.

Key course features include multiple teeing areas and alternate angles of play, which allow golfers of all skill levels to enjoy their round.

In my retirement job 10 years ago I worked at this beautiful course as a greenskeeper. This meant getting to jump on the course anytime I wasn't working. I only wish I had taken more advantage of the opportunity, as this is one of the most perfect courses I've ever played. It's hard enough to be challenging but easy enough to not lose a bazillion balls in the process. And the views are to die for. I was on the course the second time Mt. Saint Helens put on her show. Amazing!
When you're done playing the clubhouse has tremendous food, not just the typical hot dogs and hamburgers. Everything is top quality.
My band had the opportunity to perform at the clubhouse one evening and being up there at sunset was special.
All in all I don't think anyone would find fault with this facility. If it was a few yards longer it would be on ESPN for sure.

I joined last year after seeing Persimmon at the PDX golf show. There is next to no deposit to join and I can play all I want, use their gym and hang at the pool in the summer. It's less than $240 a month because I'm under 40 and can play unlimited golf!?!?! How I didn't join a few years ago I don't know but this place rocks!

I've been a member of Persimmon for two years. I find the course to be very challenging, the greens are in excellent condition as are the fairways. I find the staff to be very pleasant and very helpful. Most of the members I've met are quite friendly and a joy to golf with.
I truly believe you get great value for the cost of playing at this club.

This golf course is one of the best I have ever played. It is fun, beautiful, and a very fair test of golf. The greens are some of the best I have ever been on. The conditions have improved dramatically over the last year, and I have noticed a lot of work being done this winter. It will be interesting to see the course progress in the near future.

Over the past two years this course has done nothing but improve. The course conditions seem to only get better every year. Winter conditions have improved drastically even when Mother Nature gives us undesirable weather. The staff is amazing from top to bottom and the eminence staff is doing a top notch job. It is great to see all the hard work being too done to continue to improve this great course. It truly is a great place to play!!!

I will agree that the course has nice greens but only for about 2-3 months out of the year and the rest of the year you might be putting out of standing water. This course must have the worst drainage in the Portland metro area. I would pay to play at public courses while holding a membership because the grounds keepers could NOT figure it out. Just cancelled after being a member for 2 years because it has only gotten worse since I started and the service is horrible besides Gary the guy that works in the pro shop. 12/14/2012

I've been a Member at Persimmon for about a year. I played the course as a guest years ago....what a difference! The greens are amazing and maybe the best in the PDX area. The drainage is dramatically improved from what Persimmon used to be. I''m thrilled with the staff''s positive and welcoming attitude. I've been around golf a long..long time...and I can tell you there is no better Private Club value in the area. Considering what the Memberships include, the pricing and varieties, this is a no brainer for anyone wanting a golf Membership or even a pool/tennis Membership. The restaurant staff, quality and service has made a huge change from years ago. I challenge anyone to find a better scenic course in the PDX area, and my family and I are thrilled to be at Persimmon! Thanks so much Persimmon for moving in the right direction and making it a special place for me and my family! See you this week :)

I don't see why the previous rater gave this course one star just because it's private, they were obviously unhappy about net getting to play.

This is a great course, the greens are very well kept, the holes are challenging and the facilities are amazing.
