Ranch Hills Golf Course is situated halfway between Salem and Portland in the heart of Mulino. Mill Creek wanders through the course and comes into play on several holes, elevating the layout from being a simple nine-hole, pitch and putt. It's not a long course by any means but there is an interesting mix of short and long holes that offer plenty of variety. Your shot-placement skills will be put to the test and you'll also have to employ some creative shot making. In addition to crossing the creek three different times, there are several other tricky spots on the golf course including strategically placed traps and tricky uneven lies. With scenic covered bridges, relatively flat terrain, and short distances from the tees to greens, the golf course is great for walking. Ranch Hills G.C. is situated halfway between Salem and Portland.

Reading the reviews are insane... Great little course with reasonable prices! Love the old school carts. They let me bring my 4 year old who had a blast! It ain't Langdon Farms, and it isn't supposed to be. Had a great time!

They keep a burn pile going all day long by the first hole making it almost impossible to play the first hole with all the smoke all of this holiday weekend. I can't believe anyone would be this stupid to smoke out folks trying to get a round in.

My family have play this course for over 15 years. The owners are great people and the price is very reasonable for the beauty and challenge of the course. I see some of these reviews are only 1 star and are very profane in their comments. I can only surmise they are newbies who have only played the overpriced courses in Portland or California. Trust me, Ranch Hills is a little piece of heaven :-)

One of the best maintained courses around... I'm always bringing out of town visitors here to play. It's easy yet challenging... If I had one complaint it be that they don't have a website... Looking forward to my next round!

THE WORST EXPERIENCE & TREATMENT!! The owner/manager berated our foursome and yelled expletives stating we were taking too long. No other golfers were behind our group and we had two first time golfers in our group. I WOULD BEVER RECOMMEND THIS COURSE.

Just tried to call and get a tee time going. Never in my life have I experienced such shitty ass customer service. Pathetic. Guy should be fired. I would never play here. No class.

The new owners (a year or two) are doing an excellent job making improvements not only on the appearance of the course but the play ability as well. The greens are the best I have seen them in years. The tee boxes have been and are continued to be fixed. The new owners are taking pride in this course and have fully invested in making Ranch Hills a top course again. They are friendly and personable.

The course still has room for improvement but it is looking great

I haven't played this course in awhile and so I was pleasantly surprised to find that the previous owners have it back and their pride of ownership shows. The course is gorgeous and in terrific shape. Mill Creek runs through the property making it one of the more scenic courses. It's walkable. Ranch Hills offers "air" to clean off your cart and shoes when you're done where most other courses don't and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Our twosome followed a three and a single caught up to us so we played as a three also. Still, everyone kept up a comfortable pace of play. Very little waiting and consideration all around. I can't wait to go back.

I grew up playing this course. My wife has recently taken up the game, so the decision to play Ranch Hills as some of her first play was an easy one.
The course isn't very long, offers wider fairways and has enough variety that each hole is unique and interesting.
Perfect for beginners and intermediate players looking to learn the game or play a quicker round of golf.

I am a newb at golf. This is really the only course I go to at the moment and have only played at one other course. Just started playing last year. This course is perfect for me. It challenges a rookie like myself but is also forgiving enough that I don't hate golf. I will be playing this afternoon. Only sunny day for the next week.
The only hole I hate is #2...the creek steels balls alot.

Pleasant small privately owned course. Its fun and low key, you get to pull out the driver a couple of times. Course was in good shape. Its not a premiere course and doesn't pretend to be. This was my first visit and I'll go back again. I recommend

Great experience, very nice staff who is as respectful of you as you are of them. I can only assume if you have trouble you deserved it. Course is in very good shape for February and while not overly challenging or long a great beginnercourse or a good break from speed golf.

The review from Mike Roberts is hardly worth a response but I will write a short one any way.

Yes there were 8. Things seemed OK once they finally were paid and on there way to the first Tee. They got going and I could hear them yelling back and fourth between groups. I had 3 calls from cell phones complaining of the noise.
I had to lock up shop and go ask them to keep the noise volume down as they were disturbing other players, that was on the 2nd hole. Things seemed to go fairly well until the 1st group came in. they sat and waited for the 2nd group which had lagged behind. 2 holes had opened up which backs up the rest of the groups.
My husband went out to tell them they needed to pick up the pace, they got irrate. came in the club house throwing foul language , they were asked to leave and did not comply . The sherriff had to be called . it was not a good experience

We try to make it a pleasant experience for all players. Not a disrupptive few.

Golf not a game of patience at this place!
The absolute worst experience I have ever had at a golf course! So bad I had to post it on every possible social network I could find. As my party of 8 walks in to the lobby, we are greeted by the owners. They are decent looking couple who also run the place. I pay for 6 balls (I am no expert), a cart and clubs along with a 9-hole round. We split the group in to two teams of 4. First off the course is not the greatest but on a beautiful Saturday it is nice and quiet in-between the cars zooming through the fairways. As the second team (which I am on) makes it to the 8th hole, we noticed that there was no sign pointing to where the hole is. We had to ask some folks fishing for golf balls in the river where to go. At this time the owner (A real jacka*s) drives down in his utility cart to tell us to hurry up. We ask him what direction to go and point out the missing signage. He says “Don’t you have a score card” as if he remembered to give us one or pointed out to us where they were. He follows that up with, “Your holding up the whole golf course” as if his tiny little golf course was busy. Besides that the 2 young gentlemen that were behind us (A group of 4) we allowed to play through us as to not hold up their super-fast game of mini golf as they were playing short yards as opposed to our long yard holes. He then proceeds to follow us in his utility cart with his banter the rest of the way, which was only 2 holes left. HEY Jacka*s, we couldn’t go any faster as there were people in front of us unless you want me to hit the two guys we let go ahead of us in the head with a golf ball!

As the owners you should know your customers. If you have never seen me playing golf there don’t assume I know your golf course and where things are like your score cards or what’s printed on them. And if you have time limits or experience prerequisites to play on your funky little gold course POST IT SOME PLACE!
