Tetherow Golf Club in Bend: The new Kidd in town

BEND, Ore. -- Tetherow Golf Club is another brilliant creation of Scottish golf course architect David McLay Kidd. And Kidd, the award-winning architect of Bandon Dunes Golf Resort and the Castle Course in St. Andrews, really gets to enjoy it. He bought the first home site here and calls Tetherow home.

And what's not to enjoy? Tetherow, which is open from April through November, offers a nice mix of holes surrounded by panoramic views of Oregon’s high desert and the Central Cascade Mountains. Tetherow, which opened in 2008, was the first golf course in Oregon to achieve certification as an Audubon International Certified Signature Sanctuary.

One piece of advice: If you're playing this golf course for the first time, use a forecaddie. They can save you some strokes.
