Designed by noted architect Bob Cupp, whose credits also include the much-heralded Crosswater and Pumpkin Ridge courses in Oregon, the North Course at The Reserve Vineyards & Golf Club in Aloha provides a nice contrast to the John Fought-designed South Course. Unlike the South Course, which is reflective of the Willamette Valley, the North Course takes on more of a coastal dunes feel. There you'll find plenty of grass mounds, treacherous bunkers and undulating greens with challenging surrounds. Like many links-style golf courses, run-up shots are often recommended on greens that can be difficult to hold. The course's signature hole is arguably the 459-yard 17th, which has a 43,000-square foot green shared by two other holes, the first and the 17th. Like its sister course, this semi-private layout is only available for public play half of the month, albeit the first through the 15th.
