Course conditions
Course was in poor shape. Several sprinklers were on in several locations while playing.
Beautiful day, rough course
Got a deal online. Course was wide open and we learned why: course has been in terrible condition for several years now. It looks like they don’t care or are going to sell the land to be developed soon. Awful greens, fairways, boundaries, etc. it’s just not good at all.
What Happend
I used to play this 8-10 years ago and loved it. I’m not sure what happened but the course was awful. Multiple fairways were mostly rocky and missing turf. The greens were uneven and not well maintained. The greens had multiple dead spots and dirt patches. Tee boxes had weeds and looked as if they had not had the divots filled in the par 3’s in over a month. Lastly, there is not a driving range. I’m not what happened to this course, but i would avoid it. Not worth the money.
DO NOT PLAY HERE UNLESS YOURE A BEGINNER
Just wasted 28 dollars on the worse 18 I've ever played. THE worst greens ever. The fairway on most holes is pretty much sand/gravel, and they had sprinklers going during my round at noon. I'm disappointed that someone can own such a beautiful course layout and proceed to not care about it and let it die. I WILL NOT BE BACK THERE
Steve and Janet Campbell
So sorry to see the course conditions as they are. Will not return.......
Good golf course thats going to get better
I really like this course. I've been playing here for over 10 years.
The original layout was my favorite. Over the years with owner and management change,
so did the layout. However only the back 9 was changed. The Front 9 is pretty much the same. It's got creeks, streams and ponds everywhere. Holes with elevation and tall ceders. It's a challenging course. Since it's been redone just last year. The greens aren't that great, and some fairways are sandy still. However, I think over time it'll get better, and this will be great place to play.
Hideous Condition
It is a shame that this once decent course has deteriorated this badly. Most greens are uputtable. The fairways are dry and full of weeds. The sand traps are in major need of attention. We had a slow foursome in front of us that took 3 hours to play the front nine. No marshall to help. The course should have paid me to subject myself to such a bad experience. I will not be back. What a shame!
Sometimes, bad is bad.
Huey Lewis had Cedars (present conditions) in mind when he used the “bad is bad” phrase in his song. It is a very sad scenario as just a few years ago (prior to housing development eliminated 2 holes and driving range) it was in pristine shape. The fact they remain open is shocking and even more ludicrous is the fact they charge money to play. It’s really that bad. Baked greens, horrible rough, tee boxes overgrown, etc.. For those of us who have loved having it in our region, it’s saddening to watch ownership abandon it. The pro recently fled to greener pastures and nobody can fault him.
Greens need alot of work.
I had fun but the greens left a lot to be desired. Fairways were also a little thin.
Cedars At Salmon Creek, the course needs some work
The greens are very pockmarked so any putt longer then about 3 feet bounced along. The cut on the fairway is longer, and the rough a ball was nearly impossible to find and I was play matte red golf balls!
unfortunate turn of a course
i would like to say i have played this course many of times over the last 20 years.i can say this is the worst i have ever seen the tees and greens were so bad.chunks of the greens were dieing so i would have to make my own greens and the tees wernt even hitable i also had to hit off to the sides of the tee box just to find a patch of grass.the biggest problem i have is they're charging full price for the round.the rough was so tall and un mowed.i did only send 15$for the round but thats because i used a coupon but if i have pay the 45$ i would have walked off and got a refund.i would not play this course at any cost.a free round isnt even worth it.rather go to the driving range.SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!
Worst course ever.
I played this course 3 years ago. It was in fair shape. This time, it was atrocious. All Covid-19 precautions aside, the fairways were not mowed. The rough was not mowed. The greens were not mowed. There were giant bald patches. You have to be a pretty terrible greens keeper to not have grass grow in the pacific northwest, in the spring.
Worse. No martials, super slow pace of play.
Avoid this course at all costs.
Would rather play in a pasture
The design on the front nine is probably the most nine fun holes in Clark County. But it's impossible to get over the state of this course. The worst $42 course i've ever seen. The tee boxes are full of weeds and moss. The fairways are shaggy or bare, some even have gravel in them. The 14th is just gravel 40 yards up to the green. The rough is basically just the lawn clippings from the mower. The greens, well you'd be better off putting in a war zone — if your ball doesn't go airborne on a 20 foot putt, you're lucky. Around the greens, it's impossible to chip because it's either hard pan or deep sand with some grass growing on top. The bunkers are concrete. So so much potential in this course, but when the homeowners in the area have better lawns than the golf course, it's a problem.
Fun course despite terrible conditions and maintenance staff
I enjoyed my round because the course was a challenge. But the course is in terrible shape. I could handle the clumpy and long fairway grass and the very long(6inch+) rough but the green were horrendous. Most of them were half grass and half dirt. None of them were cut to the same length and some of them the mower missed spots. That will keep me from coming back. The maintenance staff seemed like they started at the same time as the first tee time so they were hurried to mow and move the flag locations as we were playing. One of the mowers noticed we were trying to tee off on the hole he was mowing and decided to finish while we waited. Every other place I’ve ever been to the mower will get out of the way and shut the machine off for your tee shot.
I made a point to take pictures but this app isn’t letting me upload them.
This is for all the bad review a.
I almost didn't play this course because of the bad reviews that it had received in the past few days. I must say that the people reviewing the course MUST BE ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE GOLFERS. I found the course to be in decent shape. The fairways need a little love. And the greens as well but ultimately it is not in the shape that these others golfers claimed. My only suggestion is the fair ways and greens need to be taken care of a little better.
Terrible conditions
The course was in the worse condition I've ever seen in 37 years of golfing. Other then the fairways being cut I don't think the course was touched. The tee boxes were sand and weeds. The greens were in horrific shape. Putting was a joke. The sand traps were filled with weeds. If you did not land on the fairway forget about finding your ball. I plugged two balls on the fairway and couldn't find one. I normally lose 0-2 balls. I lost 8. $50 waisted.
Declined since last played
This was never a top course. But I was saddened by the degree of regress this course showed. Still some beautiful homes lining the holes. But the greens were really inconsistent from okay on a few holes to down right terrible. Fairways were the same with first cut being way too high to play out of or even find my ball. Tee boxes were weedy, mossy, and just not very well cared for.. Giving this place some TLC is in order.
Just say NO!!
I would run as far away from this course as I possibly could. It's not even worth one dollar to play. The greens are terrible with moss all over them. The roof is 5 inches long and the fairways are 2 inches long. There are large rocks in the middle of the fairways. There are weeds growing everywhere near the greens.
I must've lost like 12 balls because the grass is so thick. I would not wish this golf course on my worst enemy. I do not think they even have a maintenance crew there. I do not understand how they can charge you money to play at this course.
My recommendation is to not play at this course and to go to any other courses in the area.
The Cedars Golf Club
Where to begin......
Friendly staff. However there must be a computer issues. Paid through Golfnow. They had no record.
The fairways were barley beyond cow pasture grade. Several had very little grass and will be bare this summer when it gets dry. The fairways were just mowed, after several weeks of not being mowed. Bunches of dead mowed grass everywhere.
The rough on the front was sadistic - maybe 6 to 8 inches. I doubt if the pros play in rough like what was experienced. The rough on the back was marginally better.
The greens were slow and bumpy.
This course was not ready for play, and it will not be ready for several weeks.
There are also some safety issues on some stairs down to one of the tee boxes.
We should have been paid to play this course. It will be a very long time before I play it again.
IN SUMMARY, A VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!!!!!
The owners of this golf course should not be allowed to own a golf course. This course is probably in the worst shape of any golf course in the PNW.
Rough has been mowed 1x since opening 3 weeks ago. It should have been mowed at least 3x..
Greens are rough, bumpy, slow, dry, and cracking.
I will never play here again until changes are made.
